ABOUT THE BOWEN TECHNIQUE

The Bowen Technique is one of the most effective and versatile treatment available today. It has the ability to balance and re-align the body which leads to the successful treatment of most health conditions including sports injuries.

It is a very gentle and non-invasive therapy and there is no forceful manipulation involved. A series of light and precise moves are made with the lightest of touches over muscles, connective tissue (fascia) and ligaments which promote healing adjustments to take place. Because of its safe and gentle nature it is suitable for all ages from babies to the elderly.

THE HISTORY OF THE BOWEN TECHNIQUE

This form of treatment was developed in the 1950s by an Australian called Tom Bowen. Tom had no training of a medical nature nor in the the field of complementary therapies, but he was incredibly intuitive and seemed to have an ability to read the needs of the body, which was coupled with an inate knowledge of what to do to successfully heal the countless patients he treated. In fact, his successful record of healing brought him thousands of patients from all over Australia and he is recorded as having treated 13,000 people in one year alone.

RESEARCH

Complementary Therapies do not lend themselves readily to scientific research but some has been done regarding the treatment of a few conditions by the Bowen Technique, i.e., Frozen Shoulders, Heart Rates and Post Masectomy Arm Restriction with highly successfull results. Details of the Post Masectomy Restriction research and a copy of the complete study on Frozen Shoulders can be obtained from the Bowen Association UK Office.

From 2011 The Advertising Standards Agency has set down restrictions on advertising by complementary therapists, which precludes me from claiming that the the Bowen Technique is able to treat specific health problems by name. In view of this I am unable to list the very many conditions I have suiccessfully treated with the Bowen Technique. Please contact me so we can discuss your symptoms.
